Rodrigo de Moura Nogueira
Highly motivated engineering professional with an extensive track record designing, managing, and manufacturing machines and robotic systems to enhance performance, improve reliability, and reduce costs. I have deep hands-on R&D experience with mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems, having personally designed, prototyped, assembled, and tested multimillion dollar systems for a variety of applications including semiconductor manufacturing equipment and flexible deep-sea pipelines.
I have also created and directed departments to vertically integrate manufacturing. My work included identifying and purchasing heavy-duty equipment such as CNCs, selecting and managing the production schedule, hiring and training machinists and shop managers, and managing engineers. I work closely with our Executive Team and Department Managers to identify and implement new technologies and lean design into production for clients.
I am a passionate engineer and enjoy seeing my projects evolve from CAD models and robotic prototypes to production equipment. I have great enthusiasm for innovative manufacturing, clean energy generation, electric transportation and space exploration, machining, welding, additive manufacturing, DIY culture, woodworking, and more. I also competed in BATTLEBOTS TV Series (Seasons 3 & 4) with the 113 kg robot MINOTAUR as designer and builder, earning 2nd place out of 64 in the 2018 competition.
